Check-in Deadline: Between 9:00 and 9:45 AM

System of Play: 9 rounds, Swiss system. Catering will be provided after the 5th round.
Time Control: 10 minutes + 5 seconds increment per move. The tournament will be played according to the FIDE Rules of Rapid Chess and will be rated for the FIDE rapid rating list.

Eligibility: The first 70 registered players.
Entry Fee: €25.00. The fee must be paid to the account of ŠD Čaven Ajdovščina, Štrancarjeva 8, 5270 Ajdovščina

Tie-break Criteria (in order of application):

• Higher number of points

• Head-to-head results (if all tied players played against each other)

• Buchholz-1 (excluding the weakest opponent)

• Buchholz coefficient

• Greater number of games played with Black pieces

• Greater number of wins (excluding wins by forfeit or bye)
  If any of the top three places are not decided by these criteria, a blitz tiebreak match will be played (colors drawn, 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment per move per player).

Prizes: Reimbursement of expenses in the total amount of €1700 net (only upon submission of tax ID number)

• 1st place: €500

• 2nd place: €300

• 3rd place: €100

• Best under 1800 ELO: €100

• Best under 2000 ELO: €100

• Best under 2200 ELO: €100

• Best female player: €100

• Best senior (U65): €100

• Best junior (U18): €100

• Best ŠD Čaven member: €100

• Lucky draw winner: €100
  Prizes are not cumulative.

Equipment: The organizer will provide chess sets and clocks.

Additional Info: Results will be published on the Slovenian Chess Federation website. The chief arbiter will be appointed by the organizer at a later date. By participating in the tournament, players agree to the tournament rules. The tournament is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Ajdovščina.
Players and their companions are not insured for health or accidents during the tournament, and the organizer assumes no responsibility in this regard.
